All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Dead Whirlpool dishwasher

I am new here. Ok I am mechanical but not Electric or circuit savy. I can trace a circuit and wire stuff but That Green Board with little things all over it is an EVIL Nemesis.

Prob item , Whirlpool Dishwasher. Model # WDT780SAEM2.

Issue:  User interface panel. No lights.  Filled with water. came back the next morning. Nothing . no lights. I have voltage detector that is blinking and chirping while I pass it along all the wiring. I bailed the sump out and washed the filters. I tried the turn off power and let sit. ½ our, 1 hour, 24 hours,   etc.  I looked underneath and no leaks.  I have a very good supply parts house here in town. he gave me some tips but can't help to much.

This was purchased from Home Depot if that is a help.  I can't start switching out parts and narrow it down. I am leaning to the user button console. that would be my limit.

I owned an Asco European  basic model that I piked up cheap 15 years ago. It lasted 12 years. The sales rep seemed shocked as they were not known for their longevity.

the interface / user buttons console is 87 plus tax. the whole computer is 200.  WE just bought this in 2016.  I live 40 mile from Greenville ohio. THE MUTHERSHIP! That is where this puppy was born. I have known folks who work there. Darke County Ohio. Home of Annie Oakley and the largest county fair in the country. Why are they doing this? LOL.
