GE Profile Harmony will not spin, grinding during spin test - WPGT9150HWW

Recommended Posts

Came home to a tub full of water after it shut down. Washer would not start, but rather would revert to a d1 error code after the basket attempted to shift directions (cw/ccw) and making a grinding noise. Washer still will not start normally and I can sporadically run a controlled spin test in diagnostics. Please see the attached video uploaded to YouTube. I speculate the shift coupler, but looking for advice. Teeth of the shifter appear to be intact with some slight shaving of the plastic, but no noticeable play when manipulating the coupler assembly on the shaft by hand. Thank you.
