Kenmore Dishwasher not washing 665.13269k114

Ok my wife ran the dishwasher Saturday night and I saw the sanitize light blinking Sunday morning and all the dishes still dirty.  I assumed she didn’t hit a button and so I restarted and went to church.  Came home same issue, heated dishes as made it home just as it was done, but no cleaning.  Checked the water inlet valve since I didn’t see any water when opening it during wash, no resistance, boom problem solved.  Ran it today after installing new part and now it fills but it’s still not washing, I opened and the tub has water but the arms aren’t wet or looked like they spun at all?  Where to now?

All a dishwasher does is fill, wash, drain.   You need to identify if the wash pump is operating. If not put a meter on the connection to the pump. It should read 120 VAC shortly after the first fill.

So check for voltage there, other than that how do you check that motor? And do I need to disconnect the drain pump and peripherals to get to that pump to take it out?

Thanks,

Shawn

The best way would be to get the dishwasher pulled out.  Pull the connector to the motor. I have seen some were you pull the connector and put it back in and it starts to work again. Possible bad connection or bad motor. These circulation pump motors are troublesome.  Sometimes just tapping the motor when there is power going to it starts the pump.

The pump can be removed as a whole assembly.

You can check for voltage at the control module, if it is ok there then you' ll need to check at motor.  Easiest way is to pull the dishwasher out and tip it back to measure at motor. If the 120 vac is there for a moment and goes to zero, it is possible a jammed impeller. Pull the dishwasher out all the way and lay it side. Use towels to catch the water left in the tub.  Next is the tricky part, you'll see the motor hangs in the front and is attached by rubber hose and grommet. You can carefully pull the mount out and let the motor hang. The motor twist into the housing with "ears" or "cams" - carefully untwist the motor and remove. If you find something jamming the impeller carefully remove. Glass can be razor sharp. If there is nothing there ans shaft spins free - you'll need a motor.

The other way to remove is to remove all spray arms and tube inside. Remove drain pump and twist the 3 locking arms on the base and push sump into the cavity.

Thanks guys I’ll get after it tomorrow after I get off work...see the motor is 80-140 dollars🙄 guess it’s better than a new dishwasher.

Haven’t updated in a few, but based on you guys saying it was the motor.  Vance motor spring freely, no obstructions, once I removed it.  I then figured it was the motor.  Ordered, replaced, and working like a charm.  Thanks guys you are awesome!
