This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Having trouble with water pressure (?) on inlet hose. With top off unit, looking at the cold inlet valve there are 3 hoses coming off the valve. The hose to the far right goes a few inches and then has a plastic “Y” connector with one of those hoses going to dispenser and the other to the tub (spray over the door glass).

First time out Found the plastic Y connector had a hole in it so we replaced it. Now the clamp holding the next hose connection together won’t hold and hose comes apart. There are no blockages in either hose.

Measured water pressure on cold valve of the house for the washer, it’s 125 psi. That seems high to me. Wondering if we know how much pressure these hoses and clamps are meant to take?

when I make water go through that inlet valve and hoses, the hose after the Y connector swells up quite a bit from the pressure.

First check the user guide of water supply pressure

most inlet valves have an inbuilt pressure reducer and can fail , it sounds like what has happened in your case

have seen it on dishwashers a few times and exactly the same happens ,he hose swells and the clamp doesn’t hold the pressure so blows off

I meant to ask for a use and care manual so I could see what the manufacture says about water pressure. Forgot to ask....

But since then I found one. They want a minimum of 14.5 psi to not more than 116 psi.

So I think that’s my answer, they do have too much water pressure.

Most houses the water pressure is 35 to 65 psi. General spec to go by is 20 to 100 psi. Those bulged hoses should be replaced.
