Frigidaire Small Burner Switch 318 293 824 Wiring, range DLEF489CCG

This switch replaces 318 369 609 but it is slightly different.  My question is about wiring.  The 824 has terminals in a similar arrangement as the 609 -  looking at the rear, three across the top and two near the bottom right corner.   When I connected the wires from the original 609 to closely match the same position on the 824, the 824 does not work.  I am reluctant to start moving wires around in fear of burning up the new switch.

i know my burner is good because I temporarily transferred the old switch wiring for the faulty burner to another original switch on the stove panel and all was well with the faulty burner.

824 is the recommended sub. Look really closely at old switch there will be letters for each terminal. The new switch is the same way. Just match the letters one for one.

Great hosannas to Vance R !  Vance saved my day and got my stove working.

I knew about pole markings on switches but, darn, these are very difficult to see.  I had to wear a pair of magnifiers and use a bright light but I did find the terminal markings on these switches.  Although the terminals were in roughly the same place on the switch bodies, the replacement switch ended up with correct wires in totally different positions than was on the original switch.

Once wired up according to the markings, all went well.

Thanks Vance. You the man.
