All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Looking for parts breakdown for new Frigidaire 5 cbft. chest freezer FFCS0522AW

Budget Appliance Repair

Recommended Posts

Manufacturer: Frigidaire
Type of Appliance: Chest Freezer
Model Number: FFCS0522AW
Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): Yes
Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): Yes

Frigidaire 5 cbft. chest freezer - (Made in China)
Mod# FFCS0522AW
Ser# AA92701730 (Mfg.Dt. 7/2019)

Only thing I can find is the owners manual on the B2B.Frigidaire site and the actual freezer for sale at numerous locations by Google.

Need the parts break down to get the Frigidaire part# for the Cold Control/T-Stat.

No Frigidaire part#'s on original control, #'s on original control:
20190622-422 (I'm pretty sure this is just the build date code)
WPF28E-EX (This is the China manufacture that made this unit part#)
17431000001341 (Don't know what this # is)

Using the WPF # I found some that are the same basic t-stat with the pawl nut mount, small 3/16" terminals and form factor for a GE 5 cbft chest freezer but don't know if cap tub length or knob position would be correct.

Found the exact on Alibaba for only $1.25-$1.99 but only in 1000 lot quantity

This is an automatic replacement within the first year, I believe. I don’t think they support parts for this unit.

@David C Wouldn't be surprised at all if that is the case - that's BS when the cold control completely fails only a month or two after the 1 year warranty is out.

They are looking for a  new one at this point, (they only paid somewhere around $150-$170 brand new on sale).

This is a relatively inexpensive, (and cheap looking), t-tstat so the repair cost was still going to equal pretty close to what they paid for it.

Really only four parts, not counting trim, baskets and sealed system, (power light, cold control, start relay, door gasket).
