  1. I have a tap master series RO system. The water recently stopped running from the tap so I replaced the filters, no luck still so I replaced the RO membrane still nothing...I have found that water is running into and out of the carbon filter, sediment filter and the RO membrane from there it runs into (and please excuse my lack of knowledge of the part names) what looks like a valve that has two ins and outs (one out goes to the tank) but nothing is coming out of this part and running into the tank...Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  2. This unit complaint is warm freezer compartment, & fresh food side is cool.    Can find no data for thermistor values. First recorded temps with unit left overnight undisturbed.   FC is 58 degrees  RC is 49 degree.   Put into diagnostics thermistors pass.  All fans run.  compressor has head temp of 116 degrees & running.  3 way valve seems to be working, can hear it switching.   Test number 56 gives me a ice maker code of E0.    The IM has the water disconnected & IM turned off because the client had the authorised Whirlpool servicer out there on several occasions trying to repair the leaking IM.   They do not want the PCM back out.   I turn off the unit let the compressor run turn it off & immediately turn it back on several times in which compressor kicks right in. Next I go to test # 4 again & let it run its 10 minute cycle a few times consecutively where the last several minutes the valve opens for freezer for most of duration of test cycle.   No change in either compartment temperatures.   At 58 degrees I did not look at the 'frost pattern' believe that would be a waste of time.   This is a known whirlpool sealed service problem where whirlpool condemns this units after reporting temps & ice maker errors.   I condemn this unit also.   Customer has called whirlpool previously and were informed that the unit is out of warrantee (2 years old).   I instruct them to call whirlpool  again & report my findings.  Make a big fuss & ask for the next supervisor up the chain.  And next & next, squeaky wheel gets grease.   Client called me later in day & informed me WP wants to send out an  "authorised tech"   at her expense.   She does not want that yahoo back out.  But she told me she purchased the unit with a visa card that guaranteed her purchase for 3 years.  She wants me to put in writing that unit can not be repaired,  that is the catch.   We know sealed systems can be repaired to some extent sometimes usually at a steep cost.  Whirlpool knows the  evaporator problems and have condemned  units in the past.   The bastards (for lack of better word) are just adding insult to injury by requiring the hack to preform service.   i am preparing to go on record with the credit company saying that the repair is not economically feasible although I do not do sealed system work.   I am asking for all opinions on this matter.  Thank you   Patricio
  3.   This dishwasher keeps giving i20 codes moer and more frequently.  The interface, rear control panel and drain pump have all been replaced.  Once a part was relpaced, it worked ok for a little while, but soon started giving the code again.  Frigidaire says the code means the unit isn't draining, but it drains completely and quickly.  Any other ideas what could cause this code?
  4. Good afternoon fellow appliance gurus.....got an issue here I have been working on for a few weeks now and can't seem to get it under control. I got called to a customer's Frigidaire Gallery Bottom Freezer refrigerator for complaints of the fresh food section getting warm. They said they started to notice it getting warmer when the weather outside got warm as well. I went there and opened up the freezer and it was completely iced up as well as up the chute to the ice maker in the fresh food section. It even looked a little frosted up in the ice maker evaporator section as well. I unplugged the fridge and let it completely thaw out. I tested all known functions of both the freezer and ice maker defrost systems. The heaters and thermostats tested out fine so I thought maybe it just needed a good thaw.   After allowing it to thaw and plugging it back in the customer said it worked fine for about a week and a half but once again got warm in the fresh food section. I returned to the home and saw the freezer had frosted completely over again. I know this fridge model has issues with the ice maker so I decided to unhook the ice maker and see if by some chance that was where the issue was. Thawed the fridge again and went on my way.   One week later the customer called again and said the same symptoms have returned. My question is is it possible that the freezer thermostat is sticking and would still need to be replaced if it tested well? Anything else I can test? Is it something with the control panel? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. I am at a loss right this moment and would welcome any and all ideas.   P.S I ran both the fridge and ice maker diagnostic tests and everything appeared fine.   Thanks in advance all!
  5. we had to disassemble a 642 yesterday to but in basement we removed both compressors and condensor we reassembled and installed new driers the freezer side was fine but the fridge side went into a vacuum about 10inches then it slowly started to coming out i unplugged condensor fan motor and left door open and the pressure rose to about 20-25 and the whole evap got frosty all the way back to the heat exchanger  so then we but back together and it went back to about 5 inches of  vacuum but climbed back to -2 is this normal would the pressure and continued to climb as it continued to run i am under the impression it would have and my coworker doesnt think it would have Then we just dumped the charge and recharged and didnt leave gauges on this time just really want to know for my piece of mind

  10. I made a major amateur mistake on a Frigidaire Gallery electric dryer 2 weeks ago and it cost me today. I was installing the rear bearing kit part number: Part number: WE25X10001   The tiny little stainless steel ball that goes in the rear bearing, GOES BEHIND THE PLASTIC BEARING!!!!!   I put it in front (where there really is no room at all for it when the drum mount ball bearing slides in) and eventually the ball worked to the bottom of the white plastic bearing.  This caused the small ball to dig a massive line through the large ball bearing mounted to the back of the drum as well as causing terrible screeching (even with the high temp lube).    My bad. My call back. My time.  My money lost. MAJOR BUMMER for simply not putting a small metal ball in the correct place!!! THE BACK OF THE PLASTIC BEARING....NOT THE FRONT!!!! I stand humbled.   Lesson learned. I just wanted to share this with other techs and DIY'ers.      ....Its a good thing my customers were so nice and appreciative.  I've had others not so accepting of mishaps.

  12. Have a Kssp36qhs00 Had the Compressor replaced a few years ago, low in R134A. I charged the up and alsa low again. I ran a leak dye in the system, checked with a black light and not able to locate the leak. The units frost pattern is only frost on the top of the evaporator. Has anyone seen this issue before and if a leak is unable to be located is is possible that its a heat exchanger or drain loop that's the suspect? I have not had the pleasure of replacing either of these components any suggestions or tips on how to replace these without burning down the house while brazing?   Thanks   Ken AtCher Service

  21. Looking for service manual. Need to know how to crack it open.
  22. I am receiving an E5E error code for a model GLTF2940ES0 washing machine. I have checked all connection on control board and motor control board and still receive the error. The machine starts to fill, stops, starts, but never really washes clothes. The drain pump is doing the same, running for a second and shutting off. I had problems with items clogging the pump beforee and decided to check it out, it seemed like it was hard to spin. is this normal? Could the pump be an issue even if the machine displays the E5E error code?  I decided to watch the machine one more time before posting this and its doing something completely different, nothing engages and the error code displayed is E14 indicating a reed switch issue!    Pleas help!
