Appliantology Live Dojo

Son of Samurai
Tech Training

All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in the conversation for all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!

This event is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.

If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here in the calendar entry. We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form

Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Who: This webinar is only available to tech members at Appliantology.

When: Saturday, April 22 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.

Where: Online via Zoom

Any technical topics you'd like to discuss, post 'em here with the model number so I can pull the technical literature.

Whirlpool refrigerator, French door, ice maker on top in fresh food section.  Model KRMF706ESS01.  Fill tube freezes over after about 3-5 weeks of the fill tube being de-iced.  Has done this a few times.   Each time we go out and place the unit in service mode, turn on the fill tube heater for about five minutes or so to clear the ice, and it works fine for the period of time stated above.  Fill valve is not seeping, no mineral deposits at the exit area of the fill tube, no wire harness problem to the pantry board and voltage is correct at j1a-4 and j1a-1 on that board.  The High Voltage board has been replaced, P/N WPW10624574 .  Solution?

I have a Samsung dryer that keeps throwing a temperature sensor error code. We changed the thermistor and board and it is still throwing the same code. The heating element doesn't look like its sagging. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Great Dojo yesterday! Lots of good questions on a variety of appliance makes and models. We looked at the schematics and talked about troubleshooting approaches. My webcam caught a photo of me during the meeting:
