  5. KitchenAid, Maytag and Whirlpool SXS Refrigerators IDI Ice Bin Difficult to Remove Service Bulletin

    Concern:
    The IDI ice bin is difficult to remove.
    Cause:
    Ambient conditions and customer usage patterns may contribute to ice buildup and rust between the drive
    shaft and coupler. This makes the removal of the ice bin difficult.
    Correction:
    A redesigned auger shaft is now being used. The edges of the shaft are
    more pronnouced than on the original design. The new shaft will be
    autmatically subbed for the old shaft. See figure 1.
