  1. I just tried to install a replacement gasket I got from repairclinic.com (thanks for quick shipping!) and I find that the gasket is quite different from the original and the 1st replacement gasket I installed more than a decade ago. The original gasket had a flap that covered the screws, and this new one doesn't. I sort of got it to fit, but I had to poke holes through the gasket for each screw. The door does not stay shut by itself, so for the time being I've taped it shut after turning the fridge back on. So is this Whirlpool's idea of improving replacement parts? Or did I get the wrong part? Or is there some way of installing it that I couldn't figure out? Part is repairclinic.com item # 820944 for Amana TQ18RBW. -- Mike
