I've never tried to fix an appliance, but I was so happy to find the video on this site to check for continuity to test for a bad switch on my front loading washer. I was convinced that this was the reason it wouldn't start so I bought the meter and followed the steps, but I suspect a reading of 3 olms with the door closed means the door switch is okay?...not sure. The reading was >0 but the meter was beeping, so I think the beep suggests continuity. So next move appears to be to replace CCU and/or MCU? Two different repairmen refuse to come and both told me over the phone just to get a new washer....but it matches my dryer, and I can't afford it. I'd like the challenge of fixing it myself, but I'm reluctant to purchase these expensive, non-returnable parts with no experience. If more background helps to diagnose, the washer started to give me problems for the last couple of loads, I would have to keep turning it on and off to get it to start. Recently an error appeared at some point during the washing of a load - F01 E06. This means no communication between the CCU and the MCU. I was told it was the worse code I could get....just lucky I guess. Now when I try to start it, it lights up and locks, but won't even try to start, and then it won't open. No combination of buttons will open the door so I have to turn off and on the breaker, and then "Door Locked" blinks for a good while. Once the light stops blinking, the door will open. So any guidance would be wonderful and well appreciated. I've been watching videos for hours and I'm feeling overwhelmed... Thank you!!
