Welcome to Appliantology! Appliantology is the world's premier online appliance repair support tool, offering a skilled tech-only community, service manual downloads, online technical training workshops, and more. Want to access all these powerful features? This page will teach you how. Click the question you're interested in below to jump to the answer: Where do I start? How do I register an account? How do I become a premium member? How do I start a new topic in the forums? How do I search for service manuals? How do I recover my password and/or username? I'm new to appliance repair -- how do I get training? Where do I start? To orient yourself to the site, first click on the logo, which appears at the top of any page. This will take you to the homepage. From the homepage, you can get anywhere you need on the site. Appliantology has a lot going on, so it can be overwhelming at first. But I'll show you a few places to direct your attention first. First, look at the menu bar, shown below. This lists all the different parts of the site, but take particular note of the items circled in green. The Downloads section is where we host our collection of 10,000+ appliance service manuals, tech sheets, parts lists, and more -- all available for our members to download. The Events calendar is where you can find our upcoming Live Dojo workshops, where the community discusses real appliance repair problems in webinars that are open to the public. That's right -- you don't even have to be a member of the site to attend our live workshops! The MST Workshops index is where you can see the full list of all our past workshops, recorded for your viewing pleasure. This makes up a body of 200+ hours of technical training videos, available on-demand to our members. The Tech Blog is where we post short, digestible tech tidbits that are of interest to anyone working in the appliance repair trade. This is another part of the site that you can access for free. The Professional Appliance Technician Forums are the central part of our site, so the full forum listing is right on the homepage. Just scroll down past the menu bar to see it. Take a minute to read through the forums and their descriptions to orient yourself. We've got a forum for every appliance repair need! Of particular note is our flagship forum, the Appliance Repair Tech Help forum, circled in green below. That's where you can post all of your technical appliance repair questions and get help from your fellows in the trade. How do I register an account? You can create an account with us by clicking the red "Sign Up" button in the upper right hand corner of the website. Creating an account takes 30 seconds and is 100% free, and it gives you access to the DIY Help forum. If you want to access the tech-only parts of the site, you'll need to become a premium tech member. How do I become a premium member? The most straightforward way to become a premium member is to fill out the membership application here. We do offer free membership options for those who qualify -- check those out here. How do I start a new topic in the forums? To start a new topic, first read through the forum listing on the homepage of the site, select the correct forum for your topic, and then click the "Start new topic" button. This video shows how to do this: How do I search for service manuals? All technical documentation on Appliantology is indexed by model number. You can find the search bar in the top right of every page. If you want to look for technical docs specifically, click the dropdown menu in the search bar and select Files. After selecting the Files section, enter your model number, and search. If your search doesn't pull up anything, try removing digits from the end of the model number and replacing them with an asterisk (that's this character: *). This will broaden your search term to include more files. If you still can't find what you need after using the asterisk to search, you can post a new topic in our Appliance Service Manual Requests forum -- we'll upload it for you there. This video shows how to search: How do I recover my password and/or username? Can't log in? Don't worry -- you can reset your password by clicking the "Forgot your password?" link underneath the login form. This video shows how to do this: I'm new to appliance repair -- how do I get training? We offer comprehensive and cutting-edge appliance repair training courses over at our other site, Master Samurai Tech.
