  1. I would appreciate help with a GE Cafe Induction slide in range, CHS985SELSS, element problem. The 11" (3700W) element (right side) is substantially less powerful than either of the 8" (2500W) elements, which are on the left side. I have tested this with various sized induction capable pans. Also the heat pattern (area of initial water bubbling at bottom of pan) on the 11" is the same or smaller than seen on the 8", and the same amount of water takes 4X as long to boil on the 11"/3700W element as on the 8"/2500W. BTW, the display board was previously replaced under warranty. This range is less than 2 years old. It seems I should understand a bit on this so I can suggest the remedy to a tech. The last tech, who was VERY courteous-professional and seemingly very capable in other ranges, said induction are rather rare in my local area so the techs are not familiar induction. Basically he passed on to me that if a large element creates heat it is working OK even if it less powerful then the smaller elements. However, I've reviewed a lot of info on the web, including GE's- something is wrong with the 11" element. Suggestions please. Thanks
