Kenmore Electric Range Model 790.92703014 Oven is not heating but stove top and controls work.
I.M. Caine posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
The oven is not heating up. The temp shows 100. The fan is spinning in the oven. Light in oven works. But no heat. When I hit the broil button - same thing. No heat. There is only one heating element in the oven - at the top. The stove works. The clock works. I took out the element. It looks like new. I hooked up a Sperry multimeter to the element and the sperry device buzzed w continuity. The connections to the element were tight and not melted or in poor condition. Should I check the thermometer next? Or do I need to know how much resistance in the element to double check that it's ok? If so I'm not sure how to check for that on my multimeter. Sperry DM-210A. The instructions for sperry are HORRIBLE. From what I have read - it sounds like it's probably the $200 control board. But I want to be sure before I buy it.- 22 replies

My gf's washer won't complete a cycle. the washer and the timer just stop. sometimes it will attempt to wash/spin but it is only momentarily then it goes into rest mode. there are NO error codes displayed. a few years ago i freed up the clutch assembly. that does not seem to be the problem now. the inner basket turns freely and after giving it a spin by hand it does another ~6 revolutions before slowing to a stop. the drain pump works as it can be turned on in service mode. the tumblers are difficult to rotate and gf says they turned more easily before. there is also noise when turning the tumblers...kind of a grinding noisy like the bearing(s) are shot or at least very gummed up. how are the tumbler bearings accessed and could this be the source of the problem. i know from past experience and reading many posts that the clutch assembly can result in this scenario (but as i said this probably isnt it) but nothing regarding noisy tumblers or bad tumbler bearings being the cause of this issue TIA for any help Mark
