  1. This GE Monogram unit has been in operation since 2004 with minor problems. Since a couple of months ago, I have been hearing beeps from the two touch control units: the quick chill drawer at the bottom, and the control panel at the top of the fresh food section. Here are the symptoms: - I hear beeps all the time, as if there is a ghost pressing buttons, even though noone is pressing anything. when I hear beeps, I do not see the equivalent of a button press (the temperature numbers increasing or decreasing) - the temperature either sets itself to the lowest point, or the unit turns off (LED displays show "OFF"for freezer and food). - it happens randomly - I have tried resetting (from service menu), unplugging, etc. Here is what I could be possibly happening: - bad panel surfaces (the control assembly WR55X10917 is $1000+ .... HELP!) - bad control board (this unit uses the WR55X10560) Any advice would be much appreciated
