  1. Hi all. I have a Jenn Air electric cooktop. Model number is JED3430WS00. The front left burner (largest, dual burner) stopped working completely. I disassembled the cooktop and hooked the element up to the back right burner connections (2nd largest, also a dual-burner). The element worked fine. This led me to believe the issue was the infinite switch. I ordered the replacement part (W10215034) and got it installed. When I turned it on, the outer element lit up, but not the inner. I switched the two wires that connect to the dual part of the element and the inner came on, but not the outer. I then disconnected one of those two wires and neither lit up. I pulled this wire off (the white one) and connected the other (the orange) and the inner worked fine. I took that same wire and put it on the other terminal and the outer element came on. So, this leads me to believe it's an issue with the wire (white one) that doesn't have to be connected to anything and the burner still light. I'll include a couple of pictures to help in case I confused everyone with that description. In this pic, the outlined wire with the red arrow pointing at it is the one I can leave disconnected and the element will still turn on, be it the inner or outer depending on which terminal I connect the orange wire to. This is the picture of the harness that contains the orange and white wires where they connect to the infinite switch. If you need any other pictures or info, please don't hesitate to ask for it. Thanks for any info you all can provide!
