KitchenAid KRSC503ESS01 fridge randomly quits

Hi everyone.  I have a weird one here.  A couple weeks ago our fridge stopped working (freezer was still operating fine).  We pulled all the food out and moved to another fridge and then I pulled off the cover inside the fridge to look at the cooling coils.  They were room temp so I know it wasnt bc they are frozen up.  I called for a repair guy to come out and look at it (which was going to be about 3 days out).  After 2 days of the fridge not running, it all of a sudden started working again.  I called the tech and I asked if there was anything he would be able to diag and he pretty much said no and it sounded like a glitch in the controls.  I took it as such and just kept an eye on things.  After a week and a half the fridge quit again but started running again within a day.  Same story, cooling coils were room temp.

Does anyone here have the slighted clue as to what could be causing this and are there any tests I can run to help pin point the issue?  I am fairly mechanically inclined especially with a little direction so I am willing to check some other things out.  I just sucks right now because I dont want to use our kitchen fridge bc I dont trust it right now.  Thank you in advance for any kind of input!!
