Hello,

Have an Advantium 120 that doesn't seam to be cooking well.

Have removed top.

Halogen is working

Rear heating element tests and heats 120v both sides.

Lower ceramic is on and glowing

Upper ceramic tests 19 ohms. It doesn't seam to glow like the lower does visually inspecting it when on.
Not sure if it's suppose to be on with tge halogen at the same time?
I got 114 volts on the side ground to frame other side of element must be neutral switch?
Could this upper ceramic element test ohm wise but not heat up fully?

I think the microwave part is functioning but will look further.

Basically if I put a pizza in speedcook it seams to come out 30 percent or more short of done in speedcook....

Any help is appreciated!

Thx

Erik

I don't want to be responsible for someone getting injured/killed diagnosing a microwave. You usually don't get any redos if you touch the wrong components. There's a guy on YouTube called Electronicsnmore from over 10 years ago that goes through testing the microwave portion.

This microwave has a discharge capacitor that discharges in 30 seconds after shut down.

I can easily test the microwave as it's working. I guess a weak magnetron is possible.

If the diode is working it discharges.

It's supposed to do that. There is no guarantee that it actually does.

To be honest, a microwave is one of the things where if you have to ask for help, you probably shouldn't be in there. It's entirely possible to not get "a second chance" if anything goes wrong.
