Returning guest presenter Aaron Wilson is back for another exciting discussion. This time, we'll be talking about...
The Science of CYA: How to Keep the Customer Safe, Document Your Work, and Not Get Sued
We take on a lot of liability as appliance repair techs, and that can get us into sticky situations whether we've done anything wrong or not. Aaron will be teaching us all about how to navigate this side of the trade.
We'll start by going over a tragic, real-world case study where a sloppy installation had lethal results, analyzing exactly how the installer's negligence caused this. From there, our scope will expand to what kind of safety precautions we should implement in our own work, both for the customer's sake and for our own.
But even if you do everything perfectly, there's still the famous "technician witch hunt." Well, we'll also talk about how to deal with that by thoroughly documenting your work and putting yourself beyond legal reproach.
A little about our guest, Aaron Wilson:
Aaron has been in the appliance repair trade for about 15 years, starting out by doing installations before moving on to bigger and better things. He worked for C&W Services as a Sub-Zero authorized servicer for a time and thereafter joined Mr. Appliance of Highland Park in the Dallas area, where he worked for years as the lead technician and field service manager. These days, he's making sure that all the appliances of everyone's favorite fried chicken place are in tip-top shape as the Quality and Performance Consultant for the southwest branch of Chick-fil-A. In addition, he has taught many classes on refrigeration repair and advanced diagnostics, during which time he also developed training material for the soft skills side of things, which he is delighted to share with you. On top of all that he's a certified graduate of the Master Samurai Tech Academy, so he knows his stuff!

Samsung Front Load Washer Model WF45A6400AV/US - No Signs of Life.

The unit in question has worked perfectly since new (03/2022).  The unit completed a couple loads of laundry and then the issue started.  A fresh load was started and shortly afterwards the unit stopped, no idea as to how much of the cycle was completed.  Thinking the load was complete I went to change over to the dryer and the door would not open and nothing would show on the display.  Checked the breaker as this has happened before and found the circuit was still on.  I then unplugged the unit and waited about 30min and plugged it back in and nothing.  There was no indication of life.  This has happened before to a previous unit I ordered a new control board (Part# DC92-02379H) with the same results no signs of life.  I then figured the old and new control boards were fine and ordered a new front control panel (Part# DC90-29517A) figuring it had something to do with the touch screen display.....and no life still.  I have checked the wiring for power from the wall to the control board and from the CB to the control panel.  I could not check the circuit boards directly due to the clear epoxy or whatever it is covering the boards.  The fuse present on the control board was not blown.

I am at a loss.  I have looked for other circuit boards and do not see any. With no error messages I do not know what to check next.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

After traveling down the information superhighway for hundreds of miles and seeing several mentions that the noise filter can sometimes fix the blank screen of death, I received a new noise filter (Part# DC29-00015G) from a friend.  I installed the new filter and heard relays click, the door unlock and the front panel to turned on.  GREAT ITS FIXED! Unplugged the machine and proceeded to put the it back together, pushed it back into its home, plugged it back in....AND wouldn't you know Mr. Samsung stood there with a blank look on his face dashing all hope of me doing laundry at home.

Any insight would be helpful.
