Left door spring on GE Cafe range broke

Model No  C2S980SEM1SS   Purchased and installed in 2008.  It has worked perfectly.

I was (unwisely) moving the range with the partly opened door.  It seems that the spring on the left side either broke or became disconnected.  Now the working spring on the right side isn't sufficient to keep the door from flopping down if it is released.  I have contacted several repairmen, as well as those associated with the appliance store where it was bought.  No one is interested in working on this 15 year old range, but they are enthusiastic about selling me one.  But except for the door, this range works beautifully.I have tried to fix it myself, but I am unable to get access to the spring in order to replace it or to rehook it.

I removed the 5 screws marked in the attached photo.  But I am not able to remove the rail for the drawer to remove the cover of the panel.  It moves a little if I pull, push, or twist it, but there is something behind it that keeps it in place.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Can you show a picture of the drawer you're talking about. I'm assuming you're talking about the slides. I'm not aware of any springs on those that I can recall. Get a picture of both sides of drawer and both sides where it's supposed to attach to.

Thanks for responding.  I took screenshots of a youTube video that addresses my issue.  The first shot is of the left side of the lower oven, showing the track (?) for the drawer.

The second shot is of the right side of the lower oven with the track and cover to the spring removed.  Video2.jpg.d9c8d436642a91e476c857bf14bc62f2.jpg

Unfortunately for me, the woman who posted the video didn't address how she removed the track and cover.  You can see the spring location.  This spring is not accessible from the outside of the range.

The video referenced is at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0_1jNVnAVk  You can skip to around the 30 second mark.

Thanks

@dweezel1 Did you check in back where the rail protrudes thru the back panel for a screw at the rear of the rail holding it in place?

In her video she is pointing to the the screw I mark with the red arrow that she says to remove.Have done that?

Thanks for looking at this issue.  I finally figured out how to remove the rail and track for the lower door.  If you look at the pic above, you will see a rectangular hole in the rail toward the back of the oven.  I checked the previous video referenced above, and there is one in the front, hidden by the extendable track.  Knowing this, I was much more aggressive about pulling out the track.  After a couple of very firm jerks, it came out, giving me access to the spring.  I was able to reattach it to the bottom bracked, and, yay!, the door is fixed, with the appropriate detente and slow opening below that.  No problem reinstalling the rail and track.
