GE Leveling Legs - what size wrench for the nut?

Go to solution Solved by Terry Carmen,

I need to pull my GE refrigerator (Model CYE22TP2MBS1) away from the wall, but in order to do so, I need to lift the leveling legs at the front. GE part number for the leveling leg is WR01X11046. My problem is that when I follow the instructions in the manual and use a flathead screwdriver to twist the leg, the plastic just gives out (garbage!). I can see a small portion of the metal nut is visible if I had a flat leveling wrench of the right size - but what is the size? Any other recommendations for what tool to use to turn the legs? Please help.

Use channel locks.

The access to the nut is ultra slim, so a channel lock is too large to be effective.

Lift up the refrigerator a little with some sort of pry bar and turn the nut by hand.

Sorry, I didn't notice this was DIY.

The hex nut is just the lock/ jam nut. Lift it a little like Terry said then use your hand or pliers, then tighten the jam nut against the cabinet with an open end wrench to lock the leg into position.
