Whirlpool Front-Load Washer (WFW95HEDW0) E1 F3 error - replaced pressure sensor, air dome OK still happening

This is an eight year old washer.  Debris filter was / is clean.  Air dome / gap is not clogged (and was not part of the service bulletin for blocking "flash" from manufacturing).  Replaced the pressure sensor because it's cheap ($20) and had no other options.  But it's still happening.  I'm skeptical it's the board because the unit is still working other than the error.

I will offer one theory for you to slay.  When it kicks into rinse cycle (when the error seems to fire) there's a loud clank or two, because I'm thinking the (original) shocks / dampeners on this are almost certainly shot.  Could shocks needing replace somehow also create this error?

Check pin j28 pin and j28 pin 4 for 5 volts dc after you've ran a drain and spin cycle to make sure the board knows the washer is empty. If no voltage unplug washer and unplug pressure sensor wiring from either board or sensor to see if you have continuity getting through wires which means there's no break in the wires. Also get a shop vac and clean out the filter clean out if you haven't. That get full of debris. Make sure you have shop vac on or towel ready.

Thx. Did you mean to say pin j28 twice? The drain filter itself is clean (took off back and took the cap off) though I guess I could shop vac the entire drain hose from outside the machine. I have a strong shop vac.

Nathaniel I've since concluded you meant to say Check pin j28 pin 1 and j28 pin 4...

(No foul! I'll report back)

I’m getting 5V DC at J28 pins 1&4, so it’s not the board.

I ran the diagnostic successfully all the way through no errors. My understand is these errors are happening with medium to heavier loads. A load of towels is out of the question, for example.

I still wonder if the shocks are shot and so the start of the spin causes too much slosh and false water level / pressure sensed at the switch. Layman’s theory of course.

Getting correct voltage but you already replaced sensor. I meant remove the clean out at the pump and make sure everything is out of the clean out, especially the area where the water comes in from the drain pump. Also make sure you're using very little detergent. Did you run a drain and spin cycle after you replaced the pressure sensor? Not sure if replacing shocks will help but it should throw an unbalanced load error. You can push down on the tub and the tub should only bounce back up and not keep bouncing to check the shocks.

Thx. Drain pump was already checked when I de-gunked the air dome (not much gunk and there wasn’t much there at the filter.

Will run a drain/spin though that’s kind of part of the diagnostic.

On the cleaning the drain pump, maybe you mean attach a good shop vac to the drain hose’s end or the outlet port on the machine to which the hose attaches?

Mainly the shop vac is for residual water from removing clean out. Only thing left is the ACU but I wouldn't be able to guarantee the results until you make sure all wires to pressure switch are getting continuity from ACU. It would be hard to make that call seeing that you're getting the voltage.

I’ll check continuity for good measure.  I still think there’s something correlating the load size and likelihood of the error.
