Plastic Pieces on exterior of whirlpool dishwasher

Hello- one of these plastic knobs on the outside of my dishwasher was popped off upon unboxing. Do these serve a purpose? Trying to understand if this needs to be fixed before installing. Thank you!

Most likely screw guides for side mounting. If you look inside you should see plugs covering the holes. Nothing to hinder proper operation.

No model number supplied - really hard to give much help when you don't included required info.

Not side mounting holes as in suggested in above post.

Even worse - with such a close up picture it's really hard to even determine the orientation of the dishwasher, (looks like it might be on it's back, those might be the guides for a special very thin top/third rack that are used in some models).
