Regarding the type of Top Loading Washing Machines that use suspension rods for the tub; has anyone ever dealt with an off-balance situation that was not fixed by replacing the suspension rods.

Machine is level left to right, front to back.

Laundry items are mixed towels and not a lot of them; I'm confident I would get the same result from a larger item such as a blanket, but I have not tried it, but I will now.

I'll be up-front and admit I replaced them non-OEM rods from Amazon.  I'll be ok if anyone says that is the issue, it probably is, I'll return them, but I just want to see if there's anything else that could cause this?  If I steady the tub by holding the outer ring I can get it to spin full speed and then I can let go and it will contiue without banging.  However it does seem like there's an extra bounce to tub during spin.

I have taken the agitator out and got the wash plate out but could not get it the drum out because the nylon clip would not come out and I was unsure if I needed to release something else first.  I now know that there is nothing else to release and the clip must just be stuck on something.

There were some coins on the edge crack of the wash plate and one or two under the wash plate.  I tried looking from the bottom of the tub with a flashlight and didn't see anything in the outer tub.  Seems hard to believe but I wonder if there is something I can't see without removing the inner tub.

If it's not the suspension rods I don't understad what else it could possibly be; it's not a complicated setup.

Any thoughts?

Hold the outer ring / tub  and try to move the inner tub side to side .  You should not be able to ,  aftermarket rods are bad but they usually work out of the box ,  most of the time the deal with them is they don’t last long.  I tried using them to save the customers money but ended up having to go back a few months later and put the originals on.  It is not unusual for these washer tubs to hit the sides at the beginning of the spin but it shouldn’t keep doing it
