GE dishwasher GDT530PSP6SS

Dishwasher control panel inoperative (slight hum or buzz when a button is pressed) after unit has completed a wash cycle - green end of wash cycle is lit.   If I disconnect & reconnect power all functions of the control panel are active.  I have tried several wash options successfully after disconnecting and restoring power.

I am certain the control panel is not in child lockout mode after power is reconnected and a cycle is begun.   I have read thru the owner's manual for the trouble shooting tips and nothing other than the child lockout is remotely pertinent in the trouble shooting section.   Dishwasher appears to be about 3.5 yrs old (came with the house we bought).

Looking for trouble shooting advice.   Thanks.

There should be a tech sheet tucked up behind the kick plate next to the water valve on the left hand side of the dishwasher and it has the diagnostic procedure and wiring diagram in it. Typically this would call for replacement of the user interface board, the main control board and the door wire harness. GE recommends changing all 3 because the new parts don't often play nice with the old parts. Both parts have superseded or updated part numbers.

Mrappliancematt Is correct about the replacing all three parts. That being said I have found that If I have good voltage from the main board to the UI I only replace the UI. If I don't have the correct voltage at the main board then I replace both. I cant recall any call backs doing this.  As for the harness I keep on on the truck but I have yet to need it. I test the wires when the door is apart, I have never run into a bad harness. I probably do 2 or three of these a week.  Note also that Disconnecting power will help for a while but eventually it will shut down completely.

Thank you both for responding promptly!

I do have the tech sheet but since the green finished light did not flash a code I did not proceed further to error mode.  I will see if there is a response in error mode and measure the two leads to the UI board that have voltages noted.

I have had a few months where in I could have checked out the dishwasher.  A few weeks ago my wife ran a cycle, it worked ok, off the list of things to check.  This past Saturday I found out the dishwasher was inop unless power was turned off.   I have a tenant moving into the house on Friday evening.

Follow up.    Main board tested correct for 13.5 vdc so I only purchased the UI and installed yesterday.   Dishwasher appears to function correctly now.   Greatest issue was getting the door apart and even more so getting the door reassembled.

Once again - thank you both!
