Sears Kenmore 106.7659311 fridge run time ? Any old timers around ?

Hi guys,

Just a quick question about our almost 50 year old fridge.    With normal use for 2 people how often and how long would you expect this old fridge to be running ?  Maybe 30 minutes out of the hour ?  Longer ?  Shorter ?  Ours probably runs an hour at a time.  Reason I ask is a friend called me today and asked the same question about his 30 year old Sears.  I didnt know what to tell him ?

I know it's been a few days since you posted this so I'll make it short in the event you disappear into the ether.

Is your question about your 50 year old fridge or his 30 year old fridge?

Is the question weather or not yours should run for an hour at a time? If that's the case, how long does yours not run detween those 1 hour run times without the door being opened and therefor rasing the temperature inside?

His 30 year old may be a different style than yours.

Personal opinion keep yours as long as you can.  You're not going to save even one turtle by switching to a new "energy-efficent" model.  Return on investment is probably 75 years for a new fridge.

You must be an old radio guy :)

Disappearing into the ether is not my style :)       The question sort of applies to both fridges.  He called me because his Wife thought that there's was running more than normal.  That go me thinking about mine since I really had not paid much attention to it.  I just replaced the thermostat in mine and was just wondering.
