Hi,

Fridge does not dispense water nor ice (it does make ice).  Indicator light for water or ice goes out when I press the paddle.  I have replaced both the motherboard and dispenser control board with no change in behavior (except when I installed my spare motherboard there were no lights on the dispenser panel).  I checked the wiring under the top hinge...no obvious breaks.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

To be clear; it doesn't make any sounds or movements when you press the paddle for the ice?

Not dispensing water would make me check the water valve for power.

Did this start with no water and then after changing what you did the no ice depensing became an additional issue?

No sounds nor movement.  Both water and ice dispensing stopped working at the same time.

Any chance it's in lock mode? There should be a light indicating it's locked but I suppose double checking wouldn't hurt. Holding the lock button for three seconds should turn that indicator light on and cause there to be no ice or water dispensed. Holding it again for 3 seconds unlocks it.

not in lock mode.

I'm wondering if my spare motherboard is not 100%...as I indicated when I installed it, there were then no lights on the dispenser display...so I went back to the previous motherboard.

Other things to check. Make sure the door switch for the freezer is turning off the freezer light when pressed. Also it looks like the wiring for the dispenser comes out the bottom of the door behind the plastic cover that goes across the bottom of the unit.  Did that get removed or any chance that wiring has been damaged?

So with the old board installed does the display change when you press the paddle for ice or water?

Im not expert; just trying to help since nobody else responded.

Did this double issue happen at the same time?

This video seems relevant to your issues. Hard to find one that isn't just about a clogged filter or bad ice maker.

I can't link the video as far as I know just just search for what you see in the screenshot on YouTube Screenshot_20240304-103821.thumb.png.3d2aae99d818e1f2b9f190f3b190b128.png

Nice find! like you said every other video is about clogged filter/frozen lines.

That vid shows my exact symptoms, but my wires come out the top and look fine...I will have to double check them.

Clearly I have a break somewhere.

Thanks for your help.

I'd check behind the grate in the bottom to make sure there's no wires there also. If you're comfortable using a multimeter you need to do some checks for voltage.

Make sure you check the door switchbecause that turns off the controls while the freezer door is open

Turned out to be the main control board after all. Apparently my backup board went bad sitting on the shelf.🤨
