Whirlpool Side by Side wrs588fihz04 - Ice Make not working

The ice maker stopped working a couple weeks ago in our 3 year old whirl pool side by side. Here's the chain of events and what I've done so far to fix. Nothing has worked.

When it first stopped working I checked the tray and noticed there was a huge chunk of ice causing a blockage. I removed the tray, cleared the blockage and unplugged the refrigerator for 5 minutes to let it reset. After 24 hours we still had no ice.

At this point I figured the ice maker may have burnt out due to the blockage, so I ordered a replacement ice maker (same part as factory). New ice maker arrived, swapped it in and still no ice after 24 hours.

I didn't see any fault codes and the freezer and refrigerator are both functioning normally apart from not making ice. I was planning to check the wiring near the base of the door to see if something broke there, but I have my doubts. Will also be checking the water line to the ice tray to see if that may have frozen.

Open to any other suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

May have found the culprit. This is an absolute terrible design the way the wires go through the door here. You can see the wire sheeting is split and the black wire cut. Not sure what that wire is for, my assumption is it's related to the ice maker. Not much room there to work, but I was able to strip the wire and solder in a jumper. Waiting to see it the ice maker kicks back on. I'll report back.
