We're designing a new kitchen and I want to buy the correct wire for my wife's preferred cooktop. Maytag's electrical requirement and installation guide does not specify whether the cooktop is a 3 wire or 4 wire. Nor do they have a recommendation for wire gauge size. Maytag's documentation does indicate this appliance is a 40amp cooktop. In order to buy wire that would match this cooktop we could use your help.

Has anyone installed one of these cooktops and if so did you do 3 wire or 4 wire? Also what gauge wire did you use?
