Electrolux EI30GF45QSA (or EL30GF45QSA?) convection won't reach temperature

The stove is possessed!  It seems to work fine on bake but if I set it to convection bake at 400 (for example) it appears to start to preheat normally.  The bottom ignitor comes on and the convection element comes on.  The cooling fan comes on right away and I can feel air being forced out the front and the vent at the back.  The convection fan doesn't come on immediately with the convection element but it does come on eventually (the manual says it comes on after 6 minutes).  All of this seems normal up to the point where the ignitor goes out.  I don't know if it is always the same temperature but let's say around 320 the ignitor goes out so the bottom burner goes out.  The convection element, fan, and cooling fan all continue.  Nothing out of the ordinary displays on the front panel.  About a minute later the ignitor comes back on and the oven slowly gains 20-30 degrees and then the same thing happens.  It takes over an hour to get to 400, I tried 450 and gave up waiting!

We had a problem with a gas odor randomly when the ignitor went out so had it serviced and based on the amp draw both the top and bottom ignitors were replaced.  They also noticed that the convection fan was frozen so that was replaced as well.  That fixed the gas odor but this convection bake problem has not changed.  The thermal cutout switch and relay board have also been replaced with no change in behavior.

I can clearly hear the relays on the relay board clicking when the ignitor goes out and comes back on.  Add to that the convection element is still heating when the ignitor goes out and that rules out the thermal cutout switch and the supply voltage to the relay board.  The only thing that hasn't been replaced yet is the control circuit boards.

The temperature display behaves as I would expect during this, but in thinking about it perhaps the temperature sensor is glitchy?  I don't think that has been replaced yet either.  Is it possible that there is an intermittent error in the temperature sensor that is causing the control to think it is over the setpoint so it turns off the ignitor?  This seems unlikely because we don't get a beep that the setpoint was reached, we don't get any error on the display, and the convection element remains on.

I don't have any service literature for this so I'm not sure where to go next.  Has anyone seen this issue before?

Jake

The only two things I can think of at this point are:

1 - unplug the convection element and run a convection cycle to see if that has any affect on the behavior.

2 - visually verify that the control circuit board has the correct part number.

Is there a service mode for the control board where I could verify the firmware version or get additional information or ???
