Whirlpool WTW5000DW1 Washer, Sending Signal to Aliens? Intermittent noise during agitation only

Recommended Posts

Title sums it up. Whirlpool WTW5000DW1 Washer makes an intermittent noise, only during agitation. The problems began when the machine starting screeching during certain cycles. I replaced the splutch and actuator, but there were other issues, so I researched and found I should do a reset. Did that and all the other problems disappeared, other than it makes the noise during agitation, and it leaks a little, which has been happening for a while.

Here is the link to the short video that includes the noise.

Might be the gear case but I haven't heard that noise yet. Take off the belt and the actuator and flip the splutch arm while turning the splutch wheel maybe you'll be able to determine whether it's the gear case or not. Try turning the motor pulley also while you're down there.

Seems to make noise only one direction of agitate and that direction does not seem to have as much travel.  I am leaning toward gearcase.
