LG WM2550HRCA Front Load Washer Door Boot Gasket Replacement Issues

Recommended Posts

I'm replacing the door gasket for my LG Washing Machine but have run into a problem with incompatible parts.  I looked up the part number for my model and in multiple sites it lists the part number as 4986ER0004H, I ordered the part, and went through the process of replacing it.  However, when pulling off the existing gasket I had to detach two side valves - one on the left and on on the right - but the replacement gasket only has the inlet valve at the top and the drain valve at the bottom.

Has anyone else encountered this type of door gasket before?  I've triple checked the the machine model number, the part number, and the part number of the gasket I purchased and everything lines up.  Is anyone familiar with what the side valves are used for?  Are they just additional drainage valves that I could safely seal?

Here's what the listed part looks like:

After a lot of google searching, I found a gasket that at least has the side valves - but I doubt this one would fit my machine.  I'm just including the next photo to make it easier to visualize what I'm seeing:

Thanks!

Matt
