GUD27ESSJIWW - Washer won't spin. GE Unitized Spacemaker® 3.2 DOE cu. ft. Washer and 5.9 cu. ft. Electric Dryer

Hey there. Have a GE Spacemaker Washer that won't engage to spin or agitate. Blocked motor error code comes up. There is no blocked motor.

GUD27ESSJIWW

Following has occurred and looking for next steps guidance.

  • GE Tech came out months ago to diagnose. Said most likely bad motor. Only put it into diagnostic mode to see error code. Never did any electric tests on board or parts.
  • Ordered whole new tub assembly with new transmission, motor, speed sensor, tub.
  • Tub assembly finally came which was back ordered.
  • Tech installed tub assembly. DID NOT solve problem.

What is occurring is if tub fills after it fills it won't agitate. You can put it into spin after reseting and it will drain the water but then won't spin.

If you go into diagnostic mode and engage the spin test, it will start the drain pump and  if you watch the fork assembly with the gears/actuator you see them move into place to start locking tub to motor/pulley.

After the black/white gears lock into place, a few seconds later blocked motor error code comes up. Drain pump stops also since error occurs.

Tech has now ordered new computer control board after calling tech support (he never checked board the first time on diagnostic trip) and tub assembly motor might not have been issue at all (which is annoying but luckily didn't have to pay since it didn't solve problem). He swears he checked the board the first time and I said he absolutely did not. I watched him the whole time.

I don't have the confidence in this repair technician from GE anymore since they didn't do their due diligence the first time and check the board.

Any suggestions on what else this could be to cause this? I'm now 3 months without a washer.

I'm curious if I should try the unplug and do the lift 6x thing I just saw today on a site.

Thanks for any guidance or help.

With full reset, just selecting spin mode on dial and pressing start, after gears lock and drain pump stops VIDEO is what occurs.

When you go into service/diagnostic mode, picture of ON / SPIN  lit green LEDs is error code (Blocked motor)

Pic of service page. Not sure what the critical fail mode tables are.
