Hello Technicians,

Water pumps in and spins out but during agitation there is a obvious grinding sound along with wobble of agitator itself. I can confirm all balancing springs are intact at the bottom but notice oily residue at center the unit that attaches to the bottom of the tub.

At 36 years old with only $4 invested, (dogs) I thought it would be interesting to see if I could keep it going a few more years. Where should I begin please?

It's model 110

110 is not the full model number.  There are additional digits following in the format of 110.xxxxxxxx.  The leading three digits on a FULL Kenmore model number is a code for the source manufacturer.  110 is the code for Whirlpool.

Your description leads to a transmission problem.

Thank you for replying. Apologies for the improper model #. It was a worn motor coupler. Part replacement went smoothly. Back up and running.

Best,

Ron
