Whirlpool Gas Dryer Model: LGR5644EZ1

Hello.

Got a gas dryer that was converted for use with propane gas, and now needs to be converted back to Type 1 natural gas.

I just want to be sure I'm ordering the right parts, I think I need a part # 234826 orifice.

When switching to LP, I think a blocking pin was probably put in replacing the regulator vent cap. While looking for the vent cap on the diagram of this dryer, I saw three items that went where the vent cap used to go.......

694424 - leak limiter

694423 - regulator adjustment screw

694422 -  regulator screw

Do I remove the blocking pin and install the 694424 leak limiter? or do i order all three of the parts above (do they combine as one). Am I even making sense??

Thanks.

It seems as though I go a few weeks without needing any assistance from this site, then at other times, I feel like I'm on it every other day! I've actually found answers here that the Whirlpool Techline folks couldn't help on!! You guys make our jobs easier! I don't think we thank you enough!

Don't see this situation too often!

Correctum. Do this part first.

If the initial conversion was done correctly, yes. :tard:

694423 - regulator adjustment screw

694422 -  regulator screw

You'll need all three. Remove the old blocking pin cap and install the spring and adjustment screw and the regulator adjustment screw. Now, you're gonna need to use your gas pressure meter to set adjust the regulator to deliver a pressure of 3 to 5"w.c. at the orifice. Once the pressure is set, install the leak limiter. Tighten finger tight + 1/8 turn.

Thanks for the word up, compadre. Glad to help! :dude:

Actually, if the conversion was done correctly, then you should only need the 234826 orifice & 694424 leak limiter.

The adjustment screw and spring should still be in the regulater and set for the correct natural gas pressure if no ones has messed with it.

When you convert to L.P. you just remove the leak limiter and install the blocking pin which blocks the regulater open for 11"W.C.

While this is true, it's unknown and they're inexpensive parts. So, in the interest of maximizing the chances of a successful first-trip repair, bring all the goodies along and use 'em. If the old ones are still there, replace them with the new ones.
