Crosley Washer holding water

I have a front load Crosley washer that sounds like it has water in it when I manually spin the bucket. There is no water in the bottom. It got stuck in a drain cycle twice now but besides that it operates fine. Also the motor is making a different noise sometimes, like it's plugged. I pulled the hose before and after the drain motor and found nothing but a little stinky water. The big hose under the bucket didn't come off with a big splash and when manually spun it doesn't leak.

The sound of water that you hear when you turn the tub is normal - it's the fluid in the front spin basket balance ring.

The drain pump very well could be going bad - that could be the noises you're hearing when it's draining.  These pumps really start wearing out at about the 4 to 5 year old area.
