Ser.# HR62214108 Mfg. date 5-16

Purchased new, 8 yrs ago. Intermittent ice production since last April (twice) then total failure last week. We've been running the fridge with no water filter since unit's first replacement indication. Refill switch is set to 'On', water dispenser functions, freezer temp was reset to 0 degrees F. Where should I begin please?

Best,

Ron

I can confirm ice bin and door switches have continuity. No ice in tray. I "think" I can feel either ice or debris in tray fill tube.

Ok, I just discovered this... Mfg failed to pull enough wiring harness through to allow for opening door even 45 degrees, let along 90... Not sure if I can butt splicers in that space and allow for fitment. might have to go caveman with solder and tape.

Hi,

We are seeking assistance with a recurring issue on a particular fridge model, which often experiences problems such as a broken wire bundle at the bottom of the freezer door. Before recommending a control board replacement, we want to check if any technicians have had success with this model.

Here’s what we’ve done so far:
- Replaced the ice maker.
- Replaced the water valve (we had an extra on the truck).
- Repaired the wire bundle and tested continuity from the repair to the control board, all of which is fine.
- Diagnostic mode shows the ice maker is present but doesn't allow us to test the water fill.

In previous cases, issues with the water filter housing have caused similar problems. Before proceeding with further testing, we wanted to reach out to see if others have successfully repaired this issue.

Our next step might be to replace the control board, as we are unable to get a response from the diagnostics for the ice maker test. We suspect that a potential short from the wire bundle may have caused failures in other components that are not immediately visible.

Any thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated.
