Need some troubleshooting steps for an LG ThinQ non-plumbed water and ice dispenser

Hi folks,

I have an LG french door, non plumbed (GF-L570PNL) fridge which isn't getting water from the reservoir to the ice maker/water dispenser. The pump sounds fine, both when the water reservoir is engaged and when trying to dispense water, but not cigar. Suspect (or hope) a frozen water line, although I'm not sure where the line actually runs, where it might be frozen and how to defrost it.

Have tried trusty YouTube but can't find a model like mine, all are slightly different.

Thanks in advance! Really hope I can solve this one myself. Happy to upload a photo or two if it might help.

:)

I had to look up what a non plumbed fridge is to make sure it was what I thought it was. I don't have any experience with this style fridge and I can't even find a parts list, but I would make sure that the valve I'm sure is on the back of the reservoir is functioning when it opens and check to see if the reservoir receiver is functioning. Here in the US, LG puts their water reservoirs in the door under the dispenser on their FDBM models. Is the pump in the base of the reservoir receiver?

Thanks Matt, really appreciate your response. How should I check the valve? The pump fires up when I reinsert the reservoir, so it knows it's engaged at least, but not sure what else to check.  It's really hard to tell where the pump is sounds like it's more towards the front of the fridge. Sorry that's not particularly helpful, I'll see if I can't find a diagram of how it's all wired somewhere.

It looks like there is a pump of some kind on the back of the fridge in the lower right hand corner where a water inlet valve would be on a plumbed model. It appears to service the icemaker as the water line leads to the top of the refrigerator cabinet. That's where I'd look next.
