Idler Pulley not returning to correct position after replacing wheel on Maytag dryer LDE8000ACW

I'm the original owner of this 30 year old Maytag dryer. I replaced the wheel this weekend on the idler pulley (it would squeak during the first few minutes of dryer use).

It went without a hitch until the end...the idler pulley won't return to its normal position after I threaded the belt back in. As a result the belt rubs against the metal edge of the pulIey and rubs against itself on the smaller wheel. I also tried spinning the drum like the guy in this linked video...for an example, the pulley should look like the video at the 6:58 mark, but instead it still looks like the 6:53 mark of the video. I'm also including a link below the video to high-res pics I took of my unit...maybe someone can see what I did wrong: Book1.xlsx

@Slugbait Most likely have the belt around the drum in the groove of the drum.  Belt needs to have flat/UN-ribbed surface around the drum and just forward, (towards front of dryer), in front of rear drum groove.

Yup, that was it. The belt slipped into that groove when I started the replacement, I thought the groove was where the belt was SUPPOSED to be (made sense to me). Now the assembly is right where it's supposed to be, thanks!
