Whirlpool Gas Stove Burners Work | Oven does Not Heat | Gas Company Installed New Regular on External LP Tank & Did Not Tell Us

We have a Whirlpool WFG361LVQ2, circa 2009.

We have not used the oven since sometime last week.

We used the upper burners multiple times since last week.

I attempted to start oven today several times and I heard the usual internal startup sounds, but oven is not getting warm and temperature stays at 100F default on the display.

I looked under the hatch of the external LP tank, which belongs to a local gas company, thinking perhaps the gas was low.

Unknown to us the gas company installed a new Excela-Flo Type MEGR-1122H-AAJ First Stage Regulator on top of the tank since last week. They did not add any gas as they leave the bill in the mailbox or door.

The tank reads 60% full and the valve is turned on.

The PSI gauge reads 110. This gauge faces away from the other gauges and requires one to duck under some evergreen branches to read it. I noticed that the seal on the view window over the gauge dial has been compromised as there is a accumulation of dirt inside.

I would assume they had to turn the gas off to the home to replace this regulator so would this installation process somehow mess up the gas flow to the oven?

Upon doing some more searching I found a tip that suggested shutting off the circuit breaker for the oven for at least 1 minute.

That seemed to do the trick as it is now baking.

The diagnostic mode for this unit, prior to turning off the power, was displaying a upside capital "F", a "E", a "5" and another upside down capital "F".

I only found one reference to code "FE5F" at the link below, which I've quoted below:

Whirlpool Oven Question (householdmanuals.com)

Quote

Hello!

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing some difficulties with your Whirlpool oven. Based on your provided error code 'FE5F', it appears you might be dealing with an issue concerning the power supply connection. This can sometimes happen due to a voltage spike or due to issues with the wiring.

Here are some steps to potentially rectify this problem:

1. Check your power supply: Ensure that your oven is correctly and securely plugged into the power outlet. If the power plug seems to be fine, check the breaker connected to the oven's circuit. If it has tripped, reset it and observe if the error code persists.

2. Reset the oven: Try disconnecting the oven from the power source, leaving it unplugged for about a minute, then reconnecting it. This could effectively reset the appliance and potentially clear the error code.

3. Inspect the wiring (call a professional): If the error code persists after trying the steps above, I strongly recommend seeking professional assistance. An experienced technician should safely inspect the ovens wiring and components to verify there are no serious issues at hand.

Please remember, attempting to diagnose or repair large electrical appliances without appropriate knowledge and experience can be dangerous, and could further damage your appliance.

To better understand your oven and its functions, troubleshooting guides or additional issue-specific information might be available in the oven's manual. We have a range of manuals available on our website. For a chance to find more about your specific oven model, click the 'View Manual' button at the bottom of this page. Please be aware, while we have a robust collection, we cannot guarantee that we carry the exact manual for your specific model.

Safety and satisfaction are our primary concerns. We hope this information helps guide you in solving your issue!

Best of luck with your oven!
