Electrolux Washer GLTF1240AS0 - Motor voltage to ground/chassis

Hi there,

Just completed another major repair myself. Replaced the inner basket c/w spider under warranty. Of course replaced the tub seal, shock absorbers, and put new bearings in (for the second time) while I had the unit apart. Upon reassembly and during first test run, I touched the motor chassis and noticed it was feeling warm. My arm made contact with the lower part of the chassis of the unit and to my surprise I got a little shock. So I got my Fluke meter out, and read 120vAc from the chassis of the motor, to the chassis of the washing machine when the motor is running. So I busted out the wiring diagram and performed the following troubleshooting steps:

1) Disconnected motor plug, Resistance test each winding of the motor to the chassis of the motor, and to chassis ground - O/L across all three phases

2) Continuity check between motor chassis, and chassis/ground of unit - O/L (Wiring diagram states motor ground is a local ground only)

3) Tested outlet with ground testing plug, as well as against a known good ground at the panel using my meter - Receptacle tested OK

4) Tested ground prong of unit's plug against chassis - Continuity

5) Tried another good motor speed control board that I had - Same issue with voltage leaking to ground and same results as all above tests

I'm at a loss, but this doesn't seem right, as during all of the service I've performed on this unit in the past I've never experienced voltage/current leakage to ground before. Looking for some direction here.

Thank you,

I made a mistake noting 2), it should read:

2) Plug motor in, Continuity check between motor chassis , and chassis/ground of unit - 1megOhm (Wiring diagram states motor ground is a local ground only)

Still not 100% sure on this one if anyone has insight.
