Clothes are coming out wet - are these diagnostic tests for the clutch or other possibilities? I'll probably need DIY videos for clutch replacement if its bad. Thanks for your help.

Is it spinning at all? Just slow or not at all? Is is agitating? There are several possibilities for a no spin/slow spin on this unit. If there is no spin OR agitation, then it is probably a bad motor coupler or transmission. If it is agitating but not spinning or just slow spin, then could be a basket drive, or clutch, or trans.

That said, the most common problem for a no agitate AND no spin is a broken motor coupler. You may see pieces of the coupler on the floor but it can still be broken either way. This coupler is located directly between the motor and the transmission. But, if the unit is agitating then the couple is not at fault. Try to do a little investigating to see what is actually happening. You can tilt the unit back and look up underneath to see if the clutch and basket drive are engaging in spin. As far as repair videos, you can search for "whirlpool design 2000 clutch replacement" (or motor coupler replacement) to see how to do get into it.

Thanks for the info. The washer is spinning and agitating so the coupler is out. I've looked into it a bit further and found a couple videos on inspecting the clutch but I have to remove it to do that. I will try to tilt it back and set it to spin. Thanks again.

You can also remove the cabinet which makes it easier to see and repair. The cabinet comes off in one piece and there are videos showing how to do this, its pretty easy. You just have to jump the wires for the lid switch so it will spin with the cabinet off.
