We've had this washer for about 18 months.  Over the weekend, we got an E21 error which is problems with draining.  Unlike our previous washing machine, there is no front panel to access the filter so I had to partially disassemble the machine since I couldn't get to everything from underneath.  Cleaned out the filter basket which had some stuff in there but didn't seem completely blocked.  There was also a little rubber flap on one of the ports of the drain pump that looked like it got stuck so I pushed that into place.

I couldn't get all the hoses taken off.  For some, after I got the clamps off the hoses weren't coming off with medium pulling force.  Didn't want to do any damage so I put everything back together and it drained and the first load or two has worked so far.

Does a drain pump like this stop working all together, or could it be wearing out and might keep doing this?  I thought 18 months would be pretty quick for failure, but we do a lot of laundry.  Looking at the machine and the parts diagram, it looks like there are two drain pumps, listed as 67 and 35.  Do they do different things?  35 attaches directly to the drain hose, but they are interconnected with various hoses.

I want to be ready to get the correct parts if one or both of the drain pumps does stop working.  Anything else I should be checking to make sure it stays in working order?  Thanks for the help!

on assembly the mfc might have used this brown color gasket seal stuff it comes off if you use a 90 degree pick look up car radiator hose removal on utube you could have something like a bra wire or whatever the triangle fabric is clogging the drain before the pump.

I don't know if I would suspect a failure in 18 months should be warranty anyway... one of the pumps you are talking about is a recirculation pump the drain pump is probably like 85 watts.. you can check the amps when draining.
