Bulletin Flash Document needed - PLASTIC OR CHEMICAL ODOR (RF1106)

Recommended Posts

Manufacturer: Frigidaire
Type of Appliance: Refrigerator
Model Number: FGHC2334KE2
Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): Yes
Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): Yes

I have a refrigerator of Frigidaire with model no. FGHC2334KE2. I feel sometimes different smell when my refrigerator door is open for 2-3 minutes. I have got one number of Bulletin Flash (RF1106) from the web where people were discussing about Chemical type smell from there refrigerator as well.

If someone can provide any document from the OEM stating any solution to get reed of these odd smells, it would be great.

Thank you in advance!

@CCES That service flash did not pull up on the Electrolux site for your model number, but may have some merit. Waiting on approval:

It's nice they found the cause!

However, they improperly located foam blocks and made them from the wrong material, and now that they are melting/burning, the fix is to have the customer buy an $80 foam block kit and a $73 defrost heater and pay for a service call and labor?

This is "turning lemons into lemonade" on a whole new level. It's more like turning toilet water into 24 year old whiskey. 8-)

I  would never have the nerve to do that and now feel completely unqualified to be in business. 8-)
