Insignia top loading portable washing machine (Model no. NS-TWM16WH9) , bought used 1 day ago (from a couple of guys that gave off real scam vibes...). tested spin cycle but could not test other cycles due to no connection to water/drain.

Brought home and installed. Unit can fill and drain with no issue.

When set to light cycle with any load size unit will fill and agitate for beginning of 14-15min cycle. then the unit stops moving and around 12min and only a hum can be heard. after several minutes unit errors out displaying "E1". I then turn the unit off/on and select the drain cycle which does drain. it actually spins the unit very fast so the clothes that were in the machine are fully drained, however not washed.

I took the unit apart to look for obvious problems but don't see much. I checked the belt first and don't see any fraying, the belt feels tight as well. If I lock the motor with my hand I cant move the belt so it doesn't seem to be slipping...

Any ideas or easy steps to take before admitting defeat would be super helpful!
