Went to look at a LG Wm2277HB...My first thougt was shipping bolts were never taken out.(no such luck)...Put the machine into test mode to spin....And it took off like a bat outta Hell....I mean i SH**  my pants tryin to get that sucker to stop thats how bad it was jumpin around...Machine is on a solid tile floor,it was level all the way around..This thing was so outta wack you could see where the tub was hitting up against the inner side of the cabinet..Customer said it always had a slight unbalanced spin feeling to it ,but latley it got worse and now this bad.I checked the rear bearing....checked the shocks..no cracks...I did notice that on the rear ball sensor plastic housing bracket the plastic looked as if it was cracked or creased from the tub hitting it....Leading me to believe the sensor is the problem....Any insight on this.??

Is the tub balanced? Take the rotor off if it causes too much drag (probably will) and see if the drum always spins around to one spot (probably won't). Worst case scenario, take the unit out to the nearest semi-level concrete slab and watch her spin smooth as silk. Every single LG washer vibration related complaint I've had was directly attributable to floor sturdiness and the only thing that shuts the customer up is to test on a concrete floor. Sensor is not the problem, just an innocent bystander.

So  you are saying  with rotor off, if the tub is balanced it should stop spinning at the same spot...The machine is on a concrete slab with 12 inch tiles.Ive seen a few machines that were on pedastools built with plywood that were much less supportive than what were dealing with now and worked fine. This customer has had the machine since august 2006. hes a contractor and has stated he has leveled the machine on and off the pedastool with same results I see what you are saying about the sensor..It just got beat up by the tub being outta wack.Iam gonna have to replace the sensor...Any advice for my return trip..?

No, if the spin tub is truly balanced and the rotor is off it should not come to rest at the same spot each time it is spun. Mark it with electrical tape and play some f/l roulette.
