Ananda Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 (edited) Manufacturer: Samsung Type of Appliance: Dishwasher Model Number: DW80K7050US Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): Yes Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): Yes This 5 year old dishwasher has an LC leak error and it's leaking right out of the diverter outer o-ring. But there's three o-rings in there and they all need to be replaced cuz they're all rubber and they expand and start leaking If you take it apart. I tried changing just the outer diverter o-ring but the inner orings are leaked after repair. This is a bad design. Has Samsung redesigned this dishwasher to fix the diverter leaking problem that they created with their bad design? I need the service bulletin if there is one, please. Ananda Posted September 26, 2024 Author Posted September 26, 2024 That's interesting. Is that a service bulletin?
Ananda Posted October 1, 2024 Author Posted October 1, 2024 (edited) The problem with this design is they're using very short thread screws that are normally used in metal instead of the Long blade threads found in Whirlpool dishwashers that go into plastic. The thread strip out easily if you try to tighten them and then you have to replace them with long blade threaded plastic screws to get the compression you need to make it seal right. I had to replace two of the original screws because their threads were way too thin and they ripped out the plastic threads. Here's a huge red flag: Samsung discontinued selling the sump assembly indicating they realize the faults in their design and no willingness to fix this design problem.
