Rhubarb Tau Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 For the past 3-4 days, when I'm on the desktop site and click the bell icon to show notifications, I get a popup at the top of the notifications list asking if I want to enable push notifications. I click the "Enable" button, and the button turns grey, changes text to "Enabled", and at the bottom says: "Your browser will shortly prompt you to accept notifications from us." Then nothing happens Next time I load the site, same thing repeats. Chrome shows "https://appliantology.org:443" listed under "Allowed to send notifications" Not sure if this is a bug on the site/forum engine or an issue with my browser
Team Samurai Son of Samurai Posted September 27, 2024 Team Samurai Posted September 27, 2024 Hmm, odd issue... I'm trying to reproduce it myself, but so far no luck. What does it show for push notifications when you go to your notification settings page at the bottom? Here's what mine looks like:
Rhubarb Tau Posted September 27, 2024 Author Posted September 27, 2024 (edited) Mine seems to show options to both start and stop push notifications btw I'm running Chrome v. 129.0.6668.71 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 11 Home build 22631.4169 Edited September 27, 2024 by Rhubarb Tau added browser and OS version info
Budget Appliance Repair Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 @Rhubarb Tau You might have the push notifications in your browser disabled. Look into your browser setting and see if you can find a PUSH NOTIFICATIONS option. I don't use CHROME on my desktop - but you might want to see what options are under the little bar icon in the circle just to the left of the URL box which shows that you are on the appliantology.org page 1

Maybe so, but Chrome seems to say Appliantology is okayed for push notifications. I gave up, clicked the "no thanks" button, and the pop-up hasn't come back so far. I don't really need push notifications, just seemed glitchy is all. edit - Banggood.com is a Temu-type cheap import site, not a porn site, fwiw Edited September 28, 2024 by Rhubarb Tau
