Hi all,

I have a G E Trash Compactor aboard the boat that we live on that has given up. It finally burned out so I ripped the guts out and we simply use it as a manual Trash Can now.

The problem is that the model which is a G E Compactall #GCG950T-03 has been discontinued and replacing this model has proven difficult because it is a 12" wide compactor that nobody makes now, they're all 15" wide these days and the problem is that it is built in and there's no room for me to adapt the surrounding cabinets. (See Pic's)

So, I was hoping to find an old one of these that has seen better days that I could remove the guts from and install them into my perfect looking compactor or better still just replace the front panel and use my existing drawer which looks very nice.

Now, I am a Master carpenter by trade and have had my own door company for years so adapting the surrounding drawers would not be worth it and I even toyed with the Idea of installing a new cabinet with a 15" opening for a newer model but then the problem is that the boat is full of Corian counter tops with another discontinued finish and I no longer have a shop to build a new custom cabinet.

You can now see the problem that I have had for the past two years and although it works great to collect recyclable items it would be nice to compact them so if anyone has any ideas or knows a repair shop that may have an old one kicking around, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Regards, Doug.
