LG LMH2016ST Microwave No Power Source Hunt Help.

Recommended Posts

Good Afternoon,

I have a LG LMH2016ST Microwave. Yesterday it was working fine while I made dinner. Shortly after, my wife was using it and she said she heard a kind of 'POP' and the power went out. I checked the breaker (fine), tried a different outlet (no luck) and tested the microwave outlet with another appliance (outlet fine). Today I tore down the microwave assuming that it was a fuse as the google machine indicated it might be and found that there was a wire on the AC line filter that had burned off of it's connector. That black wire ran to a thermostat on top of the housing. There is a another thermostat mounted near the magnetron that form like a circuit it appears. I replaced the connector at the line filter, plugged it back onto the board and the microwave display powered on. I reassembled the microwave for a test run. It powered on and seemed fine but there was a barely audible crackling sound coming from the area of the line filter. Where to I go from here? thermostats and line filter replacement? Why didn't the fuse blow? Replace the magnetron? Any help would be appreciated.
